I have enjoyed creating art since I was four years old, but until I retired from a career as a counselor I never took it seriously or sold anything. In 2001 I moved to Flagstaff, enrolled in a beginning watercolor class at Coconino Community College and fell in love with this medium.
I have been blessed to study with many excellent artists, entered juried shows, won a few awards, and have been displaying my work at The Artists’ Gallery in Flagstaff for ten years. My subject matter ranges from animals to children’s portraits, flowers and scenes of downtown Flagstaff. My paintings are always begun with a prayer because I believe that create art is truly a blessing from our Creator. My paintings have no agenda other than to bring beauty to the world and perhaps a smile to the faces of the viewers.
It is such an honor to know that my paintings grace homes and offices all over the United States as well as several foreign countries including Canada, Australia, and Sweden.
I am a juried member of the Northern Arizona Watercolor Society, Art 35 Degrees North, and a Signature member of the Arizona Watercolor Association (Phoenix). I teach workshops and small classes and enjoy sharing what I have learned from others and from experimenting.
