My humble beginnings began with adult art education classes at our local high school in Parsippany, New Jersey, with a Hungarian artist who taught in the traditional style of oil painting. After a hiatus to raise a family and work as a Dietician/Nutritionist, I continued at Morris County Art Center, NJ, with well-known New York-New Jersey artist, Annette Hanna.
Retiring to Flagstaff in 2004, I restarted ‘formal’ learning at Coconino Community College’s Fine Arts Program with Alan Peterson, Elaine Dillingham, and presently small group lessons with Jim Schroeder of CCC. My highlight at CCC was having my painting, “Lunch a la Bistro”, which was chosen for “Signature” piece. It was not only auctioned at the “Palette to Palate” Fine Arts Fundraiser, but also advertised on event fliers, posters, tickets, etc.
Art is a continual, enjoyable, learning experience through travels with my husband, David, personal experiences, landscape, still life, and children. I seek to capture the qualities of light, atmosphere, and beauty that surrounds us, in somewhat representational/impressionistic.
